The MAN 18.xxx HOCL-NL (designated as the A69) is a low-entry city bus chassis built by the German truck and bus manufacturer MAN Truck & Bus.
The 18.240 HOCL-NL is essentially a city bus chassis that has a 18 tonnes gross vehicle weight rating, with a 240hp engine.
SBS Transit used to operate one demonstrator unit of the 18.240 HOCL-NL.
In 2008, SBS Transit received a 18.240 HOCL-NL demonstrator unit bodied by Gemilang Coachwork, with a front and rear design based on the MAN Lion's City. The overall interior design resembled the Gemilang bodied K230UBs. At the end of a 2 year trial in 2010, the bus was returned to the dealer and no further purchases were made.
The bus was later loaned to Dnata for operations inside Changi Airport, before being exported to Indonesia for exhibitions. The bus returned to Singapore in 2014, and was purchased by a private operator. In 2015, it was sold again and converted into a "Lab on Wheels" bus for the Infocomm Development Authority.
